Abstract
A new method has been presented for the design of linear phase filters, using time domain properties. The method depends on first forming the ideal frequency domain response, which will contain the phase factor e-j2πfk. When Fourier transformed to the time domain, the ideal impulse response will be shifted by k seconds, where k is a parameter to be determined. A numerical example of the method is given. It shows that rapid convergence to the ideal responses can be achieved in practice
