Abstract :
In this paper, we demonstrated second harmonic generation (290 nm) of the output (580 nm) from a distributed feedback dye laser containing a random scattering active media by using pico-second pulse pumping. A fundamental laser (an organic waveguide dye laser) operated at a single-longitudinal mode at 580 nm with FWHM of 0.1 nm. Output pulse duration was 27 ps. This fundamental laser has the performance of experimental energy slope efficiency of 20.3% and maximum output peak power of >380 kW. This device has the ability that can be applied for the spectroscopic sensing in medical and biological fields.
