Abstract
A simple and compact asymmetric coplanar strip (ACS)-fed microstrip antenna for triple-band is presented for wireless technologies such as WLAN and WiMAX. The proposed antenna consists of rectangular strip ring with a double meandering along with a combination of horizontal and vertical parasitic strips are used. Prototypes of the proposed antenna have been optimally designed, constructed and tested. The simulated and experimental results validate the proposed antenna design. In addition, a parametric study is also conducted to describe the design and optimization process. Stable radiation patterns across the operating bandwidth are observed with good antenna gain over the desired band. The peak gain of the proposed antenna is 5.59 dBi at 5.5 GHz frequency band.
