Abstract :
A metal-dielectric - waveguide layered structure is considered. It is shown that the regime of weak and strong coupling between the modes confined in the dielectric waveguide and the surface plasmon can be obtained. The strong coupling allows the spatial exchange of energy and opens a way towards the quantum control of plasmon, i.e. quantum plasmonics.
