Abstract :
Wire mesh screens can be used as an electromagnetic shield with improved shielding performance in various frequencies ranges. The shielding effectiveness of a wire mesh screens not only depends on the frequency of operation and dimensions of the screen mesh but also on the angle of incidence. Mathematical equation for the estimation of shielding effectiveness of wire mesh screen were developed and presented in this paper. Several investigations were carried out to determine the effect of angle of incidence of shielding effectiveness in various frequency ranges and for various conducting materials. This would be of good reference for the designer of an electronic circuit in estimating the shielding effectiveness of a wire mesh screen for different angles of incidence.
