  • Abstract
International English is a new technique that has been developed to facilitate communication about global issues. By observing some specially devised guidelines, writers of international English seek to eliminate those elements of English that present difficulties to nonnative speakers and thereby to produce documents of greater readability. Such documents can also be more easily translated, if translation is necessary. International English may significantly influence international communication at many levels. Not only will technical and scientific conferences be more intelligible and gratifying for all participants, but publications for nonnative technical readers in all fields will also be accessible to a wider audience
