Abstract :
The authors discuss what is meant by intelligent online help. They then highlight the intelligent features of the Fortran 90 Tutor, an online help system at Hewlett-Packard that teaches new features of the Fortran 90 computer language. The intelligent features discussed include annotations, self test, interactive examples, and encapsulations. The authors also summarize some of the lessons they learned during the development of the intelligent help system discussed here
