Abstract
State of the art subsea positioning systems are based on the combination and fusion of different technologies. An acoustic range meter along reference transponder(s) can be used in such positioning solutions, notably with an INS, opening new possibilities for various applications such as pipe and cable inspection. This paper presents the proposed technique, plus results of a sea trial.
