Abstract :
A nested uniform sampling over the sphere is presented. The set of sampling points contains a sequence of nested subsets, each providing an approximately uniform covering of the sphere. The proposed Matryoshka covering of the sphere allows multiresolution 3-D imaging. Simulation and electron paramagnetic resonance imaging results illustrate its application to 3-D tomography.
