Abstract
A major problem in responding to regulatory agencies occurs when the purposes of an agency appear to conflict with the purposes of industry. The author presents recommendations for drafting responses to regulatory agencies when their demands and those of internal administrations conflict. The strategies include aligning internal approaches, designing appropriate formats, considering readers´ responses, and controlling content
