Abstract
A general structure for two-bank filter banks with rational sampling factors is proposed. Several design cases are examined to illustrate the feasibility of our approach. To achieve high precision as well as reduce the implementation cost, the rational filter banks are integrated with a frequency response masking technique. Comparison with M-stage octave filter banks based on audio spectral separation is also given to illustrate the performance of the proposed system.
