  • Abstract
    Stay cable is the main supporting system of cable stayed bridge. Due to the external excitations, various of harmful vibrations could happen easily. Parameter vibration is the principal form of the harmful vibrations. Through the establishment of motion equation of parameter vibration, the article analyzes the occurrence mechanism of parameter vibration in consideration of coupled vibration of cables and bridge on basis of nonlinear vibration theory. According to the characteristic of parameter vibration, the method of setting dampers, an effective way to reduce vibration, can ensure the safety and the normal operation of bridge.
