Abstract :
The state-space search (s3) algorithm is applied to planning in the context of a spray-casting process. An offline controller for the Osprey spray-casting process is being developed and integrated with the intelligent spray-forming control system (ISFCS), which provides for the planning of input trajectories that lead to state tracking in simulation. The purpose of this system is to generate offline controls for the plant, to be used in conjunction with a fuzzy-logic-based feedback controller to compensate for tracking errors. The rationale and implementation of the ISFCS are addressed, and two modes of operation (manual and automatic) are discussed
