Abstract
The authors have developed two new types of polarisation sampling systems capable of characterising the polarisation noise spectrum of installed fibre transmission links at frequencies upto 15 kHz. The first is based on a lithium niobate, LiNbO3, electro-optically variable phase retarder and the second uses optical components that are all passive elements
