  • Abstract
Based on the dynamic consolidation model test, the variation of dry density and improvement depth of loess have been studied. The test results revealed that dynamic consolidation method can improve the density and engineering properties of loess in a short time when high embankment is filled. The dynamic consolidation depth has been influenced by many factors such as tamping times, moisture content, initial dry density, pounder diameter and tamping energy. A mathematical equation is proposed to obtain the improvement depth, and its reliability is demonstrated.
