Abstract :
At the end of nintles the electronic technology made it profitable remote metering management and the project Telegestore started With the aim of substituting all the mass market meters and supporting the complete liberalisation of the market. The architecture of the system is simple: Telegestore exploits low voltage distribution network between concentrators (closed to transformers) and meters, public GSM and (wherever is needed) PSTN network between acquisition centres (Automatic Meter Management) and concentrators. AMM feeds Customer Information6 System (CIS) and legacy systems via local area network (Ethernet) and manages the connection to concentrators by an access server. Remote contractual activities (disconnection, remote set-up of parameters, tariff management, readings, etc) are the most important feature of Telegesto6re f-or customer, advantages are billing based on real meter readings, flexible tariff structure, immediate contractual changes (real time operated by th call centre). Accuracy better than the commercial one, load profile recording, downloading of application software, self diagnostics on major components and anti-tamper/anti-fraud features, multi-rate tariff supports are basic characteristics of the meters. Mvore then 30 milion meters, 350.000 installed concentrators, 650 local firms to replace meters, 5 meter assemblers, more than 50 suppliers of meter components areth rnain figures of the project. At the end of December 2006 353.000 concentrators and 29.800.000 meters have been installed. Experimental solutions for gas and water have been implemented and tested: ENEL is committed to offer integrated multi metering solution in the next future.
