Abstract :
A thick film printed high-Tc superconducting small loop antenna of YBCO is fabricated on an alumina substrate and experimental results are presented at 440 MHz together with those of an identical silver antenna. The example printed YBCO loop antenna system shows just a marginal improvement on the silver system at 77 K. However, the YBCO material provided has a low cross-over frequency with copper at 77 K due to problems with contanation of the YBCO with the alumina substrate. If the YBCO thick film material had better surface resistance, the superconducting antenna would have had a much better performance in power gain
