Abstract
A classification of Internet enterprises has been elaborated. Several classes are distinguished with respect to scope of activities being carried out as well as resources engaged. Existent instances of Internet enterprises of the classes have been presented, analyzed and described. A procedure for starting an electronic business company in the Internet has been proposed. Potentialities of success are described. Special attention is paid to amount of required resources. Opportunities of getting venture capital support while developing an Internet company are highlighted. Prominent aspects for generating market value of an Internet company are enumerated. Immaterial properties are spotlighted. The paper may constitute an assist for entrepreneurs who are planning to launch or have already made an opening move for starting an Internet business. It delivers a broader view of opportunities in the process of developing an Internet company at its early stage. The paper presents the topic from as well Polish as American perspectives with common points and differences foregrounded.
