Abstract :
The author looks at the operating principles and automation concept of a combined cycle power plant producing electricity and district heating energy. Process monitoring and control is built using the decentralized design and applying a microprocessor-based automation system and a calculation system equipped with a powerful workstation. The author discusses in detail the control of district heating and power production, calculation of process and economy characteristics, and operation optimisation as a part of the energy production system
