Abstract :
This paper provides an extension of our previous work in which we provided a model for received power estimation in 802.11a wireless point-to-point (PTP) links using commercially available WLAN cards in single or multi-hop configurations. The model describes how the link attenuation changes with environmental factors such as the ambient humidity and temperature. This model, uses a gradual change in refraction index as the main factor for the curvature of the radio waves in a simple manner for links using parabolic reflector antennas. Based on the proposed model for the effect of environmental factors, the received power of the PTP links is estimated. This model considers links using parabolic antennas.
