Abstract :
In order to evaluate the contribution of Wanzhou shipping on energy saving and emission reduction, this paper built an estimation model with three parameters, which are transportation sharing rate, energy consumption factor or emission factor, and baseline year. The calculation results shows that: (1) Wanzhou shipping can save 87,000 tons of fuel and reduce 67 million tons of CO2 emissions each year, it is an energy-saving and environment-friendly modes of transportation; (2) Wanzhou shipping can save 430 million yuan on fuel consumption and 67 million yuan on CO2 emissions, it is a cost-effective mode of transportation; (3) Wanzhou shipping is the lowest energy consumption and CO2 emissions mode in comprehensive transportation system, so, it is worthy for the government to increase investment and accelerate its development.
