Abstract :
The city of St. Gallen needs an estimate for electricity demand in 2050. 20 existing scenarios of 9 different issuers had been adapted to the city of St. Gallen. All the scenarios used give a range of 1´369 GWh to 360 GWh. Based on a comparison, we assess the results and select the relevant scenarios. The remaining seven scenarios show a range of 745 GWh to 360 GWh in 2050. Based on interviews with experts, five scenarios with a range of 700 GWh to 500 GWh remain. Demand forecasts for such a long timeframe are needed for long term business cases.
