Abstract
In this paper it is reported the description of a demonstrator implementing a low data rate power line communication node, developed for automated meter reading applications. This study is focused on investigating those aspects of the communication node design impacting most on the requirements for compliance with communication on the electrical network environment. Design choices, compliance tests, thermal analysis and experimental results are described in this paper.
