HDTV recording experiments using four D1 recorders

As part of the BBC´s contribution to the Eureka 95 project on high Definition Television (HDTV) it has built a prototype digital HDTV recorder from a cluster of four D1 digital video component recorders. The HDTV recorder now resides in a converted outside broadcast vehicle, together with other HDTV equipment, to provide a mobile laboratory facility for the ongoing work into the development of HDTV. This facility has already been used to make a number of HDTV programmes and to present them at many different demonstration venues, mainly in the UK, but also in Paris
