Abstract :
In this article, we discuss about multibeam klystron which consists of parallel arrangement of low perveance beamlets within a common RF structure and vacuum envelope. It is capable of generating high peak and average RF power at greater efficiency and lower cathode voltage than a conventional single beam klystron. A preliminary design study, based on DESY´s MBK specifications for its tesla accelerator, has also been undertaken in this paper.
