Abstract
A 20-kHz continuous-time low-pass filter with amplitude-detection tuning realized in a standard 3-micron CMOS process is described. A simple seven-transistor averaging-type amplitude detector circuit is used in the tuning scheme. Its advantages over a similar scheme using precision rectifiers as amplitude detectors is given. The tuning circuit maintains the filter cutoff frequency to better than 1% of the designed value as the temperature was varied from 0° to 70°C
