Abstract :
This paper presents a methods and codes to simulate the gridded electron guns for electron-optical system (EOS) of travelling wave tubes (TWT). These codes use the two, two and half, and three-dimensional (2D, 2.5D, 3D) models of electron flow. Original configuration for electrodes of electron gun without grids by method of synthesis is defined. Numerical designing of a cathode-grid assembly (CGA) with the desired values of modulating and cut-off voltages by using an interactive code is realized. The computer aided design of electron guns with grids in the 2.5D approximation is described.
