Abstract :
Plagiarism detection is to find the similarity between a target document or the suspect document and the original document, and determine whether the former was actually written by another author. In this paper, we introduce a novel method for plagiarism indication based on linguistic analysis in terms of syntactic-semantic analysis. Syntactic analysis is parsing method which is done by Stanford parser to identify structural properties of texts. The proposed method is also responsive to synonyms substitution which might occur in the suspect document. Synonyms substitution checking is carried out by resources from Wordnet lexical database. Our proposed method, especially the synonym substitution checking, can potentially be used in advanced plagiarism detection.
