Abstract
From the view of sustainable development, the paper analyzes the influence of mega-events on urban infrastructure construction and sustainable development, including urban reconstruction and rational upgrade. The paper selects the city of Guangzhou as a case for in-depth analysis. Studies are focusing on the city´s infrastructure development before and after the Ninth National Games, including analysis of four aspects: infrastructure investment and structural changes in the investment industry, infrastructure projects, public facilities and open space, and public transport facilities. It aims to reveal the gradual influence of mega-events on urban infrastructure, and to reflect on the relationship between them.
