Abstract :
In this study, investigation of the insulation performances of the silicone oil as an insulating medium is studied with aim of realization of environmental friendly electric power apparatus, which is considered to be flame retardant. This investigation is searching for the streaming electrification characteristics when silicone oil flows in consideration of cooling of electric power apparatus. In this paper, we investigate streaming electrification characteristics of silicone oil when oil temperature was increased. Temperature dependence of streaming electrification characteristics of silicone oil is considered by that investigation. It investigates that the electric charge density characteristics of silicone oil and the accumulated electric charge density characteristics on the surface of the insulation materials. We have used 4 kinds of insulation material for the experiment, including aramid paper. This experiment was tested in between 30 and 70degC . Silicone oil becomes negatively charged by streaming electrification, in contrast to conventional mineral oil. The magnitude of the electric charge density on the insulation materials is influenced by the kind of insulation material. On the other hand, it was found that the electric charge density of silicone oil and the accumulated electric charge density on the surface of the insulation materials change remarkably by increase of temperature of silicone oil. We consider the optimum combination of silicone oil and insulation material. These results of experiment are given.
