  • Abstract
    System faults on 11 kV networks must be disconnected quickly from the system by the next stage of protection. The fault current threatens the condition of the circuit breaker so by monitoring it the condition of the circuit breaker can be fairly accurately predicted. The author presents the Capenhurst current counter which measures every current that its circuit breaker interrupts, and displays and remembers a cumulative total of those currents
