  • Abstract
    Because of its inherent advantages, future protection relays of all types will utilise the integrated protection technique. Increasingly more of the logical decision making and interlocking will be devolved down from manual central control room operator decision in favour of the `black box´ combined protection and control relay. Advances in semi-conductor technology are providing relay designers with greater computing power without the disadvantage of excessive power supply requirements
