Abstract
Discusses the design of the DART radar system. A general purpose minicomputer was selected for the radar management task, and several DEC PDP 11 models were benchmarked for the application. A distributed database approach was adopted, and several control system architectures were considered. A broadcast system based on Ethernet was chosen. Ethernet was also used for the exchange of signal processor filter reports to the plot extractor, and then to the data processor and radar data recorder
