Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate a line-to-ground fault on a 345 kV line 17 miles outside of a high voltage substation. This report discusses the system´s reaction to the fault, the ideal system reaction to the fault, and possible solutions to more effectively protect this portion of the power system from a similar fault.
