Abstract
The frequency upconversion behavior of singly balanced diode mixers with 90 degrees and 180 degrees hybrids has been investigated analytically. It is concluded that only the mixer realized with the 180 degrees hybrid can be used for frequency upconversion. That the mixer with a 90 degrees hybrid cannot be used as an upconverter effectively has been experimentally verified.<>
