  • Abstract
Simultaneous multi-threading processors can improve performance through permitting multiple independent threads to issue multiple instructions each cycle. However, all the existing simultaneous multi-threading resource allocation strategies allocate the resources according to the status of instructions from the threads and without considering the thread priorities that operating system endows. In this paper, a thread-priority sensitive simultaneous multi-threading fair scheduling strategy, which combines with the instructions executed status and thread priority and takes advantage of ICOUNT and improved DWarn strategy, runs the threads of simultaneous multi-threading fairly from the perspective of the operating system under the conditions of no loss of processor performance.
