  • Abstract
We investigated the processes of charge structures formation and the current propagation in a plane capacitor with low-conducting polar liquid under the steady or modulated electric field. The ternary ionic system is considered in dielectric medium. The first type of positive ions appear on the anode due to surface electrochemical ionization. Unipolar injection from the anode appears if the field strength on the anode is greater than the some threshold value [1] and the ion flux on the anode is linear function on the field strength. Dissociation produces two other types of ions (positive and negative). All three types of ions recombine on the electrodes. Time evolution of charge distribution, current density through the capacitor and the field strength on the anode are investigated numerically. Time of charge injection is taken into account. Different modes of the electric current and volume charge waves in the inter electrode gap are analyzed under external modulated electric field. Our investigation shows that the action of the external modulated field changed the periodicity of charge injection from the anode surface, and the sum of the injection periods equals the period of the external field. The averaged current density through the capacitor is obtained dependence of the frequency and amplitude of the external field.
