Abstract
In this article we present how iterative linear detection can be applied to a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system with linear-dispersion (LD) codes. The LD codes are space-time (ST) mappings that maximize the mutual information between the transmitted and received signal. They consider the data symbols as well as their complex conjugates and thus require two complex minimum mean squared error (MMSE) filters for linear detection known as widely linear (WL) filters. We determine different LD codes and show that the overall performance of the system can be significantly improved over standard approaches
