Abstract
Summary form only given. The author shows how properly field-annealed Fe-B amorphous materials, when used in strain gauge applications, yield a figure of merit 1000 times higher than semiconductor strain gauges. Temperature stability is also improved. Material costs are very low. Accelerometers and pressure gauges can be built using this strain gauge configuration
