Abstract
A rectangular microstrip patch antenna with coplanar feed is analyzed by the spectral domain method. The radiation patterns calculated from the current distribution are compared with measurement data and presented. Both theory and measurement predict the same input impedance match at 7.6 GHz and 18.475 GHz. The current distribution on the feed line is shown to have a strong influence on the cross-polarized field.<>
