Abstract :
This paper describes the formalism used to delineate the modes in the TE0n mode-converter structure, and the technique used to incorporate the asymmetric fields into MAGY. The formulation requires representation of the fields in a superposition of modes of the vaned structure. These modes are calculated quasi-analytically and incorporated in MAGY. The cut-off wavenumbers for different mode in a TE01 to TE02 mode-converter from both our quasi-analytic model and HFSS simulation. The modified MAGY can then be used to calculate the scattering matrix for the converter which then be compared with HFSS simulations.
