Abstract
The cavity model with magnetic side walls and dyadic Green´s functions is used for the analysis of a cylindrical-rectangular microstrip antenna with the patch along a helical direction. The input impedance and the radiation pattern are calculated for the antenna operating in the TM/sub 01/ mode. The expressions obtained for the resonant frequency and the input impedance with the patch along a pitch angle are identical to those obtained by K.M. Luk et al. (1989) when the patch is along the axial direction. As expected, the radiation pattern depends on the pitch angle and on the substrate dielectric permittivity.<>
