Abstract :
The author looks at the digital cordless technology by describing CT2 (cordless telephony) and DECT (Digital European Cordless Telecommunications) systems which provide the voice transmission requirements of a single 32 kbit/s bearer. Among the topics discussed are: common air interface (CAI) codec; CAI frequency response masks and loudness ratings; noise performance; acoustic losses; DECT transmission parameters; and environmental and radio path issues
