Abstract
To power station operators the achievement of reliability and availability of the power generating plant is of primary concern. To this end the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) must assume greater responsibility for the operation of his plant in the field. The OEM should agree and implement with the operator a long term strategic plan for inspection and maintenance of generators, coupled with the introduction, wherever possible, of improved modern day designs and materials to older machines
