Abstract :
According to the study on hydrophobicity migration of the SIR, it is found that the SIR can transfer its hydrophobicity to various contaminations deposited on its surface, but the hydrophobic states of different contamination layer is different evaluated by contact angle of the water droplet. Water droplets existing on the surface of silicone rubber (SIR) materials may change the electric field and voltage distribution along the surface and cause corona even. The present study focuses on the effect of water droplets on the hydrophobic contaminated surface, and records some special dynamic behaviors of water droplets under AC condition. Furthermore, based on the computation of the electric field distribution in a 2-D model, the reason why these phenomena are different from those on clean SIR surface is explained.
