  • Abstract
Describes a digital filter model of the basilar membrane (BM). The model incorporates mechanical features of the BM which govern frequency selectivity. The important feature is the inclusion of the mechanical properties of the tectorial membrane (TM) and the stereocilia of the outer hair cells (OHC). This results in an improved lower frequency selectivity as well as improvements to the phase curve
