Abstract :
This paper presents a comparative study of conventional magnetrons and spatial-harmonic magnetrons. The space charge distribution is SHMs is essentially nonperiodic, and a considerable part of the electron bunches moves asynchronously with respect to the working harmonic of the RF-field. Typical examples of the space charge distribution in a conventional magnetron and in a SHM magnetron are given.
