Abstract :
Estimation of source number is the fundamental problem of DOA estimation in acoustic signal processing.. On the basis of source number estimation algorithm in traditional acoustic pressure sensor array using Gerschgorin disks(GDE-P), we have derived a new source number estimation algorithm (GDE-V) according to acoustic vector sensor array by Gerschgorin disks theory and worked out the rules for determining the source number. Simulation tests show that GDE-V method can efficiently distinguish between the close source, port / starboard source and multi-source, and has higher-resolution estimation performance when the snapshots are fewer.
