Abstract :
An improved kernel governing the interaction between parallel, nonstaggered, perfectly conducting cylindrical dipoles is introduced. The formulation is used to evaluate the symmetric component kernel for the circular array asymptotically as the number of dipoles tends to infinity while the ratio of the number of dipoles to the radius of the circle remains constant. It is shown that, under suitable conditions, the imagery part of this kernel tends to zero exponentially, suggesting the existence of exponentially narrow resonances.<>
