Abstract :
The paper presents the multiple-beam amplifier development at NRL(Naval Research Laboratory). The development comprises of two phases, the first phase focuses on the development and demonstration of multiple beam gun technology. The resulting gun is tested using three-cavity multiple beam klystron circuit. The second phase is the development of high average power compatible multiple beam amplifier with an emphasis on broad bandwidth. The paper also presents the overall approach for the electron gun development and the klystron circuit design efforts.
